Football Recap: Hopi Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hopi fell victim to Pinon and their airtight defense on Thursday. They were beaten by the Eagles 46-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Bruins in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Lando Jones and Josh Manuelito. Jones rushed for 129 yards on only five carries while Manuelito rushed for 151 yards while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Those 129 rushing yards gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was JoBryant Charley, who rushed for 74 yards and one TD on only eight carries.

Hopi's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pinon, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hopi will take on Many Farms at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pinon, they will challenge Window Rock at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
