The home team had won the previous six meetings between Hudson and Maple Hill, and Hudson kept the tradition alive. The Bluehawks skirted past the Wildcats 4-2. That's more bragging rights for the Bluehawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gannon Logue made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Logue wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Antonio Troy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That's the most hits Troy has posted since back in April of 2024.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Maple Hill, they moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Hudson will be playing at home against Red Hook at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Maple Hill, they will venture away from home to face off against Greenwich at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
