Baseball Recap: Mechanicsburg Triumphs

Mechanicsburg lost to Cedarville back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Mechanicsburg walked away with a 5-2 victory over Cedarville.

Crew Lafary made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Conner Eyink was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. Drew Lawhorn also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Mechanicsburg's record is now 8-2. As for Cedarville, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-5.

Coming up, Mechanicsburg will challenge Trotwood-Madison at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cedarville, they will face off against Catholic Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
