Volleyball Recap: Kathryn Driend Key Part of Team Effort in Rangers Win + How To Watch

The Methuen Rangers got the win against the Bridgewater-Raynham Trojans on Saturday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rangers.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-17.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Methuen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kathryn Driend, who had five digs and five aces. Driend is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Aalayah Cortorreal Guerrero, who had five kills, five digs, and five aces.

They weren't the only good server: Methuen was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Despite the defeat, Bridgewater-Raynham saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emily Rogers had four digs and four aces.

Methuen's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bridgewater-Raynham, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Methuen has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Chelmsford on the 15th. As for Bridgewater-Raynham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Fontbonne Academy on the 15th.
