Basketball Recap: Keytesville Comes Up Short

Keytesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss. They were beaten by the Hale Cardinals 71-29. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 619th in Missouri, while the Cardinals are ranked 130th in Missouri).

Keytesville's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Bartholomew, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards. Bartholomew is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Moser, who posted six points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Keytesville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

Keytesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Hale, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Keytesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-40 victory against Meadville on the 26th.
