Basketball Recap: Mira Monte Comes Up Short

Mira Monte was the 60-46 winner over Foothill when they last played one another on January 8th, but their luck changed this time around. The Mira Monte Lions fell just short of the Foothill Trojans by a score of 57-55 on Friday. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Foothill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Giovani Cruz led the charge by going 7 for 12 en route to 21 points along with seven boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Orozco, who posted 15 points and five rebounds.

Mira Monte's record is now 8-13. As for Foothill, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-15.

Mira Monte will challenge Chavez at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Foothill has already played their next match (against West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
