Basketball Recap: Port Gibson Comes Up Short

Port Gibson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 47-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson County Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Waves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-30 on January 3rd.

Ger'Kiya Flowers was Port Gibson's leading scorer, having posted 18 points. Destiny Neal held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Port Gibson's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Jefferson County, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.

Port Gibson will welcome Wesson at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. Jefferson County has already played their next match (against South Pike), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
