Softball Recap: Mead Mavericks vs. Legacy Lightning
Mead had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Legacy Lightning 21-2 on Tuesday. Considering the Mavericks have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Maddilyn Bomareto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits. She was even better at the plate, going 5-for-5 with a home run, seven RBI, and seven RBI.
In other batting news, Adisyn Rademacher was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoe Mowers, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, a run, and a run.
Mead's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Legacy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.
Mead will host Holy Family at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mead knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Holy Family likes a good challenge. As for Legacy, they will head out to face off against Fairview at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fairview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
