Baseball Recap: Russell County Comes Up Short

Russell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Calvary Christian Knights, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 back in March.

Russell County's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Calvary Christian, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-10.

Russell County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calvary Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Brookstone at 7:00 p.m. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
