Volleyball Recap: Ingleside Comes Up Short

Ingleside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Refugio Bobcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Oakley Ruiz paced Ingleside's offense, picking up six kills. Ruiz got some help from Kyleigh Ralston and her ten assists. Finally, Ralston was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Refugio to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ja'Zae-Lynne Lewis, who had ten digs, six kills, and one block. Caylee Collins was another key player, getting ten assists and eight digs.

Ingleside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Refugio, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Ingleside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Falfurrias on the 15th. As for Refugio, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Jourdanton on the 15th.
