Volleyball Recap: Paradise Honors Comes Up Short

If Paradise Honors was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Moon Valley on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Thunderbird Titans on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Paradise Honors started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-21, 26-24.

Kaitlyn Hyppa paced Paradise Honors' offense, picking up 12 kills. Hyppa got some help from Ashlyn Persha and her 22 assists. Hyppa was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Paradise Honors' loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 21-12. As for Thunderbird, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-11.

Coincidentally, Paradise Honors and Thunderbird will both be playing Shadow Mountain the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Matadors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Titans will host them at 6:00 p.m. on the 13th.
