Basketball Recap: Coral Springs Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coral Springs can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 78-22 loss at the hands of the Nova Titans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-17 back in January.

Coral Springs lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Janyah Holmes, who posted six points and five boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nethania Noel-Jeune, who scored eight points.

Nova's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaelynn Housey, who had 18 points along with six boards and five assists. Housey continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'Mora Evans, who put up 13 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Coral Springs and nudges their season record down to 15-10. As for Nova, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Coral Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nova, they will challenge Martin County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Martin County comes in on four and Nova on three.
