Baseball Game Preview: Knight Hawks vs. Lancaster Eagles

For the second straight game, Knight will face off against Lancaster. The Hawks will head out to take on the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Knight has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Lancaster will arrive with four straight victories.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Knight challenged Lancaster on Wednesday. The Hawks came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-3.

For Lancaster's part, Freddy Orozco spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. Orozco has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lancaster got a big performance out of Cole Lewis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Jaxton Whitaker was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Lancaster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in four consecutive games.

Knight's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Lancaster, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
