Basketball Game Preview: Highland Bulldogs vs. O'Fallon Panthers

Highland is 1-9 against O'Fallon since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Highland Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the O'Fallon Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Highland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Highland was able to grind out a solid victory over Triad, taking the game 45-38. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly seven points.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for O'Fallon on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Collinsville out of the water with a 66-29 final score. The Panthers pushed the score to 56-25 by the end of the third, a deficit the Kahoks had no chance of recovering from.

O'Fallon is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points over those games. As for Highland, the win got them back to even at 14-14.

Highland came up short against O'Fallon in their previous matchup back in January, falling 53-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of O'Fallon's Josie Christopher, who went 9 of 16 on her way to 23 points in addition to six steals and five assists.
