Basketball Game Preview: James F. Byrnes Rebels vs. Eastside Eagles + How To Watch

Two dominant guards in Colt Fowler and Brandon Ray are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The James F. Byrnes Rebels will take on the Eastside Eagles in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in James F. Byrnes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

James F. Byrnes is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: North Mecklenburg, who was ranked 17th in their home state at the time (James F. Byrnes was ranked 11th). The Rebels lost 81-60 to the Vikings on Saturday. The Rebels' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Eastside came up short against Gaffney on Friday and fell 65-53. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

James F. Byrnes will have to keep a close watch on Christian Campbell and Thomas Rouse, a pair of players who had a big impact on Eastside's prior game. Campbell posted ten points and three steals, while Rouse had 11 points and seven rebounds. Campbell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Carter Driscoll also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for James F. Byrnes, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
