Franklin proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Laguna Creek Cardinals 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Leilani Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Franklin let Julissa Sandoval and Kalani Phearson run wild. Sandoval went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Phearson went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That's the most RBI Sandoval has posted since back in February.

Franklin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Franklin's record now sits at 14-10-1. As for Laguna Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-0 defeat against Pleasant Grove on the 2nd. As for Laguna Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against Elk Grove on the 2nd.
