Softball Recap: South Comes Up Short

South extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-5. They came up short against the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders, falling 10-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 15-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games.

For Kapaun Mt. Carmel's part, Gracie Bezdek was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that Bezdek has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucie Glover, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Kapaun Mt. Carmel beat South by a score of 20-5 later that day.
