Softball Recap: Clifton Central Comes Up Short

Clifton Central was the 11-4 winner over Grant Park when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Comets took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons on Tuesday. The Comets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Sydney Jemar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.

Clifton Central's record is now 12-12-1. As for Grant Park, they moved to 10-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

While Clifton Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
