Basketball Recap: North Forsyth Takes a Loss + How To Watch

North Forsyth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the R.J. Reynolds Demons, falling 79-30. The Vikings lost against the Demons in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 71-59 score last time.

North Forsyth's loss came despite strong showings from Jeffrey York and Peyton Thomas. York posted six points and seven rebounds, while Thomas had four points. Thomas is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

R.J. Reynolds' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MJ Russell, who went 7-for-12 to rack up 17 points and three steals. Those 17 points gave Russell a new career-high. Miles Broadnax was another key player, putting up seven points along with five boards and five steals.

North Forsyth's record is now 0-4. As for R.J. Reynolds, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Forsyth won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Stokes at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for R.J. Reynolds, they will face off against Mount Tabor at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
