Baseball Recap: Bolivar Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Bolivar is still undefeated this season after their match against Lamar on Wednesday, but Lamar came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Liberators skirted past the Tigers 8-6. While the Liberators didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Bolivar let Chapel Banner and Kanton Fisher run wild. Banner scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Fisher scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Fisher a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brant Sawyers, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI.

Bolivar's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Lamar, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bolivar will venture away from home to take on Monett at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lamar, they will head out to square off against Pittsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
