Baseball Recap: Mason Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Mason, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They skirted past the Lakota West Firebirds 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Comets: when they faced off against the Firebirds on Wednesday, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

Jaden Bakhit looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Hutch Crociata was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Mason's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lakota West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mason is set to square off against their familiar foe Oak Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Comets 2.6, the Highlanders 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lakota West will face off against rival Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
