Basketball Recap: Kiona-Benton Takes a Loss

Kiona-Benton lost against Royal back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Kiona-Benton Bears fell 40-28 to the Royal Knights.

Despite the loss, Kiona-Benton still got an impressive performance from Yadi Aquilar, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Aquilar is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiwi Franco, who scored eight points.

Kiona-Benton dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Royal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Kiona-Benton has already played their next game, a 42-22 win against Wahluke on the 14th. As for Royal, they will head out on the road to challenge Zillah at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Zillah will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Royal surely won't give up without a fight.
