Preview: Jordan-Matthews Jets vs. Seaforth Hawks
Jordan-Matthews is 0-5 against Seaforth since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Jordan-Matthews Jets will head out on the road to face off against the Seaforth Hawks at 6:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Jordan-Matthews has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Seaforth will arrive with 13 straight victories.
On Friday, Jordan-Matthews was the victim of a rough 67-47 defeat at the hands of Bartlett Yancey.
Southeast Alamance typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Seaforth proved too difficult a challenge. They enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over the Stallions. Given Seaforth's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Southeast Alamance is ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jordan-Matthews has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season. As for Seaforth, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Jordan-Matthews was dealt a bruising 63-12 defeat at the hands of Seaforth in their previous meeting back in January. Can Jordan-Matthews avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
