Basketball Recap: Dekalb Has No Trouble Against Plainfield East

On Thursday, everything went the DeKalb Barbs's way against the Plainfield East Bengals as the DeKalb Barbs made off with a 51-30 win. Given the Barbs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Bengals are ranked 464th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Plainfield East still got an impressive performance from Leslie Salas, who posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave Salas a new career-high in shooting accuracy (75%).

The victory made it two in a row for DeKalb and bumps their season record up to 20-10. As for Plainfield East, they dropped their record down to 4-25 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home.

DeKalb has already played their next matchup, a 54-43 loss against Lake Park on the 17th. As for Plainfield East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-49 win against Plainfield Central on the 15th.
