Volleyball Recap: Oconto Beats Sturgeon Bay for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Oconto extended their winning streak to six on Saturday, bumping them up to 22-7. They came out on top against the Sturgeon Bay Clippers by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

Alaina VandenLangenberg paced Oconto's offense, picking up 13 kills. VandenLangenberg got some help from Adelyn Martin and her 11 assists.

As for Sturgeon Bay, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-25. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 17-10 Mayville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 69.4% over those games).

Despite the loss, Sturgeon Bay saw an underclassman step up: freshman Makenna Coyhis had four digs and two aces.

Oconto has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Mayville on the 11th. As for Sturgeon Bay, they will venture away from home to take on Sevastopol at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
