Basketball Recap: Living Word Lutheran Comes Up Short

After flying high against Kenosha Christian Life last Friday, Living Word Lutheran came back down to earth. The Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves took a 62-48 bruising from the Lake Country Lutheran Lightning on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lightning this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-52 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Living Word Lutheran lost, don't look at Kaleah Alles. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. Alles' evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Delaney Winkelmann was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Even though they lost, Living Word Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 17 consecutive contests.

Living Word Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Lake Country Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
