Soccer Game Preview: Berkeley vs. Stratford

The Berkeley Stags are taking a road trip to square off against the Stratford Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Berkeley's offense. They came up short against Wando on Tuesday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Berkeley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 77th, while Wando are ranked first).

Meanwhile, Stratford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Cane Bay.

Berkeley's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Stratford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Berkeley was able to grind out a solid win over Stratford in their previous meeting back in March, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stags since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
