Basketball Game Preview: Northside Christian Academy Crusaders vs. South Charlotte Thunder

The Northside Christian Academy Crusaders will take on the South Charlotte Thunder in a tournament on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Northside Christian Academy is headed into Saturday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ben Lippen.

Northside Christian Academy might have lost, but man, Hilton Dessausure was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Dessausure has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Weaver, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Northside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, South Charlotte earned a 70-57 win over Surry HomeSchool on Friday.

Northside Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for South Charlotte, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
