Baseball Recap: Ludlowe Gets the Win

Ludlowe won the last time they faced Greenwich and things went their way on Thursday too. The Falcons had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 6-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Mason Holcomb looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ludlowe is 3-1 when Holcomb allows one or fewer hits, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kenny Luczaj, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Kieran Scruggs was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Ludlowe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Ludlowe's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Greenwich, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
