After a string of three wins, Mountain Pine's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 5-1 to the Murfreesboro Rattlers. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rattlers earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

Mountain Pine saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cale Slaten, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Mountain Pine's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Murfreesboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Pine will head out to face off against Kirby at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Murfreesboro, they will venture away from home to square off against Spring Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
