Basketball Recap: Compton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jordan

Compton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Jordan Panthers, falling 120-90. One positive for the Tarbabes, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Compton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Schorea, who went 13 for 24 en route to 29 points. The match was Schorea's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Goodlow, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 24 points.

Even though they lost, Compton was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Compton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Jordan, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 11-6.

Compton has already played their next contest (against Lakewood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jordan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 92-50 loss against Long Beach Poly on the 13th.
