Baseball Recap: Ennis Takes a Loss

Ennis entered their match against Midlothian on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Ennis fell just short of Midlothian by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered against the Panthers since April 12, 2019.

Ennis saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keno Castillo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Ennis and nudges their season record down to 9-8-2. As for Midlothian, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Ennis Lions face off against Terrell Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ennis is facing Terrell at the right time seeing as Terrell is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Midlothian, they will face off against Red Oak at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
