Softball Recap: Arlington's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Arlington had lost ten games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-10 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Kamiak Knights, sneaking past 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Knights back in March, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

Peyton Aanstad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kylie Nuyen, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Camryn Zodrow was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Kamiak, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

On Kamiak's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Arlington has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Everett on the 23rd. As for Kamiak, they will challenge Glacier Peak at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
