Softball Recap: Webberville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Montrose on Monday, Webberville came back down to earth. The Spartans fell just short of the Birch Run Panthers by a score of 11-9 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 22nd.

Valerie Grosser was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Webberville now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Birch Run, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Webberville will be playing in front of their home fans against Leslie at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Birch Run, they will head out on the road to square off against Freeland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
