Patrick County is a perfect 10-0 against Floyd County since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Patrick County came out on top against Liberty on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run fourth inning. The Cougars blew past the Minuteman 12-1.
Mark Register looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Christian Hylton was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Cassell, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Floyd County hadn't done well against Pulaski County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Buffaloes put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-5 win. The Buffaloes not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 8, 2025 (when they won 11-1).
The team relied heavily on Adam Petty, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Max Harris, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Floyd County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.
Patrick County now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Floyd County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
