Basketball Recap: Mater Lakes Academy Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Mater Lakes Academy had won four straight home games and Tai Bell did his part to make it five on Thursday. The Mater Lakes Academy Bears blew past the Miami Beach Hi-Tides 88-61 thanks in part to Bell, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 11 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Mater Lakes Academy's points.

Another player making a difference was Khanye Moss, who posted 17 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (five).

Mater Lakes Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Miami Beach, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Mater Lakes Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 79-57 victory against American Heritage on the 3rd. Miami Beach has also already played their next matchup, a 75-45 loss against Southridge on the 31st.
