Baseball Recap: Sioux City West Comes Up Short

Sioux City West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Storm Lake Tornadoes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sioux City West's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Storm Lake, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Sioux City West will host Humboldt at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Storm Lake, they will square off against Spirit Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tornadoes 2.2, the Indians 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
