Portales has gone 8-2 against Goddard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Portales Rams will take on the Goddard Rockets at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Meanwhile, Goddard lost to Artesia on the road by a 67-48 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 14th).

Portales will have to contain Isaiah Mestas as he made an impact in Goddard's last game. He posted 13 points and four steals. Mestas continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josiah Castillo, who had eight points.

Portales' record now sits at 11-11. As for Goddard, their record now sits at 9-13.

Portales strolled past Goddard in their previous matchup last Friday by a score of 54-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Portales since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
