Volleyball Game Preview: Andrew Thunderbolts vs. Lincoln-Way Central Knights

The Andrew Thunderbolts will head out to take on the Lincoln-Way Central Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Andrew has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Andrew sidestepped Stagg for a 2-1 victory.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Andrew got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 29-27, 23-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Lincoln-Way Central came up short against Homewood-Flossmoor on Thursday and fell 2-0.

Lincoln-Way Central was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16.

Lincoln-Way Central's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-12. As for Andrew, their win bumped their record up to 13-19.

Andrew couldn't quite get it done against Lincoln-Way Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
