Baseball Recap: Bartlett Starts Season with Win at Home

Bartlett gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Crystal Lake South Gators 11-10. The win was some much needed relief for the Hawks as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Josh Colaizzi was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Colaizzi was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and two RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Austin Daubenmire was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Alex Bihun was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Looking ahead, Bartlett will venture away from home to take on Willowbrook at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Crystal Lake South, they will square off against Richmond-Burton at 4:03 p.m. on Thursday.
