Softball Recap: Randolph Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Randolph hadn't done well against Gowanda recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cardinals skirted past the Panthers 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted since May 16, 2024.

Aliza Hind was excellent, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one run and one double. Ryanne Bushey was another key player, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

The victory (which was Randolph's third in a row) raised their record to 5-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Gowanda, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Randolph will face off against Brocton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Gowanda, they will challenge Silver Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
