Basketball Recap: West Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

West Mecklenburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 75-59 to the Harding University Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-49 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why West Mecklenburg lost, don't look at Josiah Pratt. Despite the final result, he to rack up 28 points along with eight boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds Pratt has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chase Mcdonald, who en route to 16 points.

West Mecklenburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-24. As for Harding University, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-17.

West Mecklenburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 74-23 loss against North Mecklenburg on the 17th. As for Harding University, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 98-76 defeat against Chambers on the 17th.
