Basketball Recap: New Richmond Takes a Loss

New Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Western Brown Broncos, falling 65-29. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 670th, while the Broncos are ranked 261st).

Western Brown's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from J Jenike, who posted 14 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilyn Ruby, who went 6 for 10 en route to 13 points and three steals.

New Richmond's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Western Brown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Richmond has already played their next matchup (against Clermont Northeastern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Western Brown has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Chillicothe.
