Football Game Preview: Potomac Wolverines vs. Oxon Hill Clippers

Potomac is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Saturday. They will face off against the Oxon Hill Clippers at 2:00 p.m. Both teams are still undefeated after three games, but that won't be the case come Saturday.

Last Friday, Potomac humbled Bowie with a 48-12 victory. Fans of the Wolverines have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Damarion Baxter was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 157 yards and two TDs on only nine carries, and also threw for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Malik Iracks, who rushed for 77 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Oxon Hill narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Suitland 21-18.

Potomac's record now sits at 3-0. As for Oxon Hill, their record is now an identical 3-0.

Potomac took a serious blow against Oxon Hill when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 34-7. Thankfully for the Wolverines, Cameron Azodeh (who rushed for 148 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 9.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 39 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
