South Johnston and West Johnston are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2022, but not for long. The Trojans will head out to challenge the Wildcats at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

West Johnston will be up against a hot South Johnston squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Trojans came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Triton.

South Johnston was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-107), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 15-25, 27-29, 25-20, 15-12.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday West Johnston sidestepped Western Harnett for a 3-2 win.

West Johnston took Western Harnett into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-17, 20-25, 25-23, 16-14.

South Johnston's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for West Johnston, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
