Preview: Pleasanton Eagles vs. Calhoun Sandcrabs
The Pleasanton Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Calhoun Sandcrabs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Pleasanton came up short against Rockport-Fulton and fell 36-28.
Despite the defeat, Pleasanton had strong showings from Cade Segura, who threw for 316 yards and four touchdowns, and Jayden Palacios, who picked up 260 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Calhoun came out on top against La Vernia on Friday by a score of 21-14 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
Calhoun's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Parker led the charge by rushing for 105 yards and three touchdowns. Parker was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 63 yards. Darrik Salinas was another key contributor, rushing for 133 yards while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
Calhoun's win bumped their season record to 3-3 while Pleasanton's defeat dropped theirs to 2-3.
Pleasanton didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Calhoun in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 25-19 win.
