Baseball Recap: Jurupa Hills Has No Trouble Against San Gorgonio

Jurupa Hills barely beat San Gorgonio the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Jurupa Hills was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over San Gorgonio on Friday. The result was nothing new for Jurupa Hills, who have now won nine matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Casey Ard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Matthew Toscano was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaden Lopez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Jurupa Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .429 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Jurupa Hills' record now sits at 14-4. As for San Gorgonio, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Coming up, Jurupa Hills will square off against Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for San Gorgonio, they will take on Colton at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
