Volleyball Recap: Osceola Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Osceola and St. Croix Falls squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Osceola had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Saints. The Chieftains haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Osceola couldn't get the win, but they sure gave St. Croix Falls a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 38-40, 25-17.

Osceola's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Beth Viebrock, who had 21 digs and four assists, and Jaci Irlbeck, who had nine digs and one block. Viebrock has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Osceola's loss dropped their record down to 21-19. As for St. Croix Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 24-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Osceola nor St. Croix Falls have any future games scheduled.
