Basketball Game Preview: Holly Wildcats vs. Cheyenne Wells Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holly is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Holly is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since January 27, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Cheraw by a score of 36-33.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne Wells came up short against McClave on Friday and fell 47-38. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Cardinals are ranked 22nd).

Cheyenne Wells' defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Holly, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Holly suffered a grim 60-40 defeat to Cheyenne Wells in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cheyenne Wells' Paige Ryser, who went 10-for-22 on her way to 26 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
