Baseball Recap: Lake Park Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Lake Park and St. Charles East squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lake Park had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Fighting Saints by a score of 3-2. The Lancers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Saints earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

Lake Park got a good showing from Anrhony Durava, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Durava has become a key player for the Lancers: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 15-16 otherwise.

At the plate, Lake Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin O'Neil, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Lake Park moved to 19-17 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for St. Charles East, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-18.

As of now, neither Lake Park nor the Fighting Saints have any future games scheduled.
